About Mobile Smiles
Mobile Smiles is a registered UK charity aiming to protect and preserve the dental health of inhabitants below the poverty line. We started within Egypt initially, then expanded our mission into Namibia, and hope to do the same in other countries in the future. We aim to provide preventative and emergency dental care via a mobile dental clinic fully equipped with facilities to deliver oral health education and a range of treatments such as restorations, periodontal care and extractions.
Our story
The charity was set up by its founders in August of 2020 and officially registered in the UK charity commission in December 2021. With the help of donations, we have commissioned two mobile dental vans with facilities, not only for a dental clinic but also for a GP consultation room as well as an Ophthalmology screening room. We expanded into Namibia in September 2023, and since then have worked with the Namibian health ministry to provide care for hundreds of patients there.
